Things to do
Barcelona is considered a global city due to it's cultural and economic influence, as well as its popular sports (especially football) and music. When Barcelonans go out at night, they really mean night; restaurants and bars are busiest around 10pm and most clubs do not warm up until around 2am, so if you are heading out, expect to be late, or early, returning to bed.
Student neighbourhoods
Barcelona has many student neighbourhoods, the cheapest student areas to live in are Sant Antoni, Raval, Born, Gotic, Gracia, Poble Sec. Rent will increase in areas such as Eixample, Les Corts, Sagrada familia, Sants, Sarria, Sant Gervasi... it all depends on budget. Getting around
Public transport in Barcelona makes getting around easy. With plenty of options, the metro covers all of Barcelona. Buses, ferrocarrils and train all use the same travel card, check always the discount travel transport in Plaça Universitat Office. The cheapest option is Bicing, a city bicycle sharing system in Barcelona, which is 46€ for a yearly membership. The stations are situated through most of the flat areas of the city.
