> Is Oxford House just for students?
Yes - only students can live at Oxford House
> Which room type is right for me?
We have a couple of different room types and it might seem a bit daunting choosing which room type will be perfect for you. If you want to live on your own, we suggest one of our studios, which are complete with their own kichenette.
If you like the social aspect of having a shared kitchen, we recommend you opt for one of our cluster ensuites. Your room and bathroom will be private, but you will have a shared kitchen and living space.
We then have a few upgrade options for both room types. Selecting a Deluxe room will mean you have more space. Our Premium and Deluxe rooms also include more tech perks (such as speakers or your own Wifi) included in your cluster ensuite or your studio. Check our room inclusions table here for full details.
> Who will I live with?
We understand that possibly the most important thing is who you live with. We take matching you up with your flatmates seriously, and that's why you'll see so many questions in our booking platform. We use these questions to help pair you with people we think you'll really get along with. We want you to love living here and that's starts with liking your flatmates!
If you already know who you want to live with we can make sure you and your friends are all in a flat together (subject to group size!)

> I want to live in a studio - does that mean I'll find it harder to meet people?
If you're not a huge party-goer, don't panic! Some of our social activities will be around quiet group study, reading groups and skills workshops.
Not at Oxford House! As well as fostering a community spirit before you arrive with our dedicated Facebook groups, we also run lots of activities and socials when you arrive.
We understand it can be daunting arriving without anyone you know, which is why we'll introduce you to people in your building before you arrive.
> What's the flexible workout space?
We know the gym doesn't work for everyone, so we have invested in a flexible workout space. We can invite guests in to run classes, such as Barre, as well as using it for meditation and Yoga. When it gets closer to crunch time, based on demand, we can also look at making it an extended study space!
> What's the Netflix offer?
If you are one of 10 people to book your Premium Cluster before the end of July, you'll receive a joint Netflix giftcard for the television in your shared living room. This is a welcome gift so that you can get to know your new housemates.
> What do I get in an Ensuite Room?
In every ensuite room you will have superfast wifi, a bed, a set of shelves and storage area, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, academic storage and your own private bathroom.
> What do I get in a Studio?
In every studio room you will have superfast wifi, a bed, a set of shelves and storage area, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, academic storage and your own private bathroom. You will also have a living area and your own kitchenette.
> What's the difference between a Classic and a Premium Cluster?

> What's the difference between a Classic, Premium and Deluxe Studio?
Premium Studios have everything included in our Classic Studios, plus your own private Wifi password with Ask4MyLAN, Wireless music speakers and complimentary Netflix giftcard.
Our Deluxe studio features everything in our Classic and Premium studios, plus more floor space and an extended study area with more over desk storage. On top of this we also include your bedding in our Deluxe studios and we'll make up your bed before you arrive.
> What else is included in my room?
View our handy inclusion table here which has everything
> What do you mean by a concierge reception service?
Our team will be on hand to help with whatever you need. We will give you advice on good places to eat, visit, study and explore. We can help you book taxis, cleaners and assist you with any queries you have about your room or the property as a whole. If you have any issues with your room please come and tell our helpdesk so we can get one of our engineers to fix it as quickly as possible. Please note our team needs to stay based at the helpdesk so we regret we can't help you move your bags upstairs when you arrive.
> What do I have to pay upfront?
In order to book you will need to make a payment of £300. This includes your booking fee and, once your tenancy agreement has been signed, £250 of this will become your secured and refundable deposit.
> How and when can I pay my rent?
We have lots of options for rental payments, so you just need to select which works best for you. If you are a domestic student, you can choose to pay your rent in installments aligning with your student loans. You can also pay monthly with our gurantor partner, Housing Hand.
If you're coming from overseas you can pay your rent monthly using our guarantor partner, Housing Hand. If you don't choose Housing Hand as an option and you're an overseas student you will need to pay your rent upfront and in advance.
> Are there any other perks living at Oxford House?
As well as local discounts and offers, we'll help you build your CV with employable skills during your time with us. The company behind Oxford House has global reach and we will use that to help you build up a network before you even leave University.
> Who is my Landlord?
Student Living has been authorised to act on behalf of the Landlord, Kier (Newcastle) Operations Limited, as its agent in connection with the operation of Oxford House. This includes the management of the booking and rental process. For the avoidance of doubt, bookings made at Oxford House are made with the Landlord and not Student Living.
> Is parking available on site?
Oxford House is located within easy walking distance of both of the Universities, the Town centre and Public Transport Stations. You need to be aware that there is no parking available on-site and we would strongly discourage people from bringing a car, even if only for a short duration. There is no-on road parking in the locality and pay parking can be prohibitively expensive if parking for a long period. Newcastle is perfect for both walking and cycling and just think how much better you will feel in your health and benefit financially from leaving the car at home. For longer journeys Newcastle is well supported by public transport, check out
For those planning to arrive to drop-off / pick up your belongings, don’t worry we will facilitate a speedy unload, and direct you on to local parking. Freeing up valuable time to do important things like filling the fridge and sorting out those last minute purchases that you simply can’t live without.
