Things to do
Nottingham is a very student friendly city. The city centre and more specifically the Lace Market is home to some great bars, pubs and clubs. Nottingham is home to the legendary Sherwood Forest (of Robin Hood) and the impressive Nottingham Castle with the oldest pub in England "ye old trip to Jerusalem" just next to the castle. The Arboretum is one of Nottingham's lush parks, which are great places to hang out in the summer.
Student neighbourhoods
Popular student areas for NTU are the city centre, Arboretum, Forest Fields, Radford, St. Anns and the Meadows. Clifton and West Bridgford are the student areas for NTU Clifton Campus. Lenton suits both NTU and University of Nottingham students. Derby Road, the main road that joins the city to the University of Nottingham is full of student houses. Beeston and Wollaton are also popular with University of Nottingham students.
Getting around
Nottingham benefits from a tram that runs north to south through the city centre. so, that’s good news if you’re living in Forest Fields or the Meadows, but not so relevant for Lenton, Beeston or the Park. The cost of a season ticket for the tram is £90 for 3 months or £200 for 12 months, or daily it is £3.50. If the tram doesn’t pass your house, there are plenty of buses throughout Nottingham. A weekly bus pass is £12, monthly is £42, 3 months is £113.
